This two-part workshop, with Fiona Brooker and Andrew Redfern, is ideal for researchers and family historians ready to bring their completed research to life. Transforming Your Research with AI will show you how to creatively repurpose your findings into shareable content such as articles, blog posts, visual stories, tables, and presentations. Whether you’re preparing a family newsletter or a formal publication, this course provides hands-on practice with AI tools to help you streamline content creation, analyse and display data, and make your research accessible to a wide range of audiences.
Participants will work with their own research throughout the course, practising new skills to transform their data into polished, engaging formats suitable for any context—from family gatherings to formal publications.Who should attend?

Workshop Cost: $175 (US dollars) for 6 hours (Two sessions each of three hours)
When: 21 & 28 May 2025 @ 6 PM Eastern US
Where: via ZOOM. All sessions are closed captioned, recorded and available for viewing for 14 days following each session. A comprehensive workbook is provided. Attendance is limited to 30 participants.

Fiona Brooker
Fiona Brooker is a professional genealogist who has been actively researching her family history for over thirty-five years. She has gained a Higher Certificate in Genealogy from the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies and is a ProGen graduate. Fiona has served as both President and Treasurer of the New Zealand Society of Genealogists (NZSG) and organised family history conferences and expos in New Zealand. The advent of AI gives Fiona the opportunity to blend the genealogist with her IT and teaching experience. She is keen to help family historians to share their research and AI is one tool to help with this. Fiona presented on AI and Your Genealogy Business at the 2023 Professional Management Conference for the Association of Professional Genealogists.
Andrew Redfern
Andrew Redfern is an accomplished speaker, having delivered many workshops and presentations over the past 20 years. Recently his work on AI and Family History has been sought after by numerous family history groups across Australia. He was one of the keynote speakers at Family History Month Opening Ceremony 2023 and in conjunction with the Society of Australian Genealogists developed a 3 part seminar series on Using Artificial Intelligence in Family History. With a background in education and technology, the integration of AI into his genealogical toolkit was a natural progression and he is excited by the possibilities while remaining aware of the limitations. Andrew's engaging presentation style often includes fun and interactive activities to ensure participants learn the content in fun and interesting ways and the use of practical examples is a key feature of his courses.
