Mastering WATO & WATO Plus: The Super Tool for DNA Mysteries

Trace relationships. Test hypotheses. Reveal the truth.
About this course
This immersive two-part workshop unlocks the full potential of one of the most powerful tools in genetic genealogy—What Are the Odds? (WATO) and its enhanced counterpart, WATO Plus. Whether you’re puzzling over a mystery match or seeking to confirm a family connection, WATO can help you visualise and test where an unknown person might fit in a family tree using DNA data.
Led by renowned DNA detective Michelle Leonard , this workshop provides a step-by-step guide to both tools, helping you confidently assess hypotheses, explore alternative relationships, and strengthen your research conclusions. You’ll gain hands-on experience through live demonstrations and real-life case studies, and learn how WATO Plus opens up even greater possibilities for interpreting complex scenarios.
